I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
