Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans make a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
